  • UG: NEET/JEE.
  • PG and Ph.D: NAT (National Aptitude Test):  Everything is same as that of GATE exam but with all subjects (Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy etc.). The separate board like UPSC is going to conduct this exam. Set up is ready with IITs/IISc. The same set up needs to be extended. The same exam and its score can be used as entry level test for admission to PG, Ph.D; Recruitments in Government/ Private/ PSU/ Banking Sectors/ UPSC/ State PSC etc. Validity: 2 Years.
  • Admission to management seats (UG/PG) will be based on above exams. They can’t conduct their separate (or any other) entrance tests and counseling rounds.
  • All admission process (for government and management seats) and payment of fees should be online and it should be processed through national and corporate portals. It helps to fight against donation system.
  • Interested private universities can use the scores of above exams for their admission process. Their admission process should be online and it should be processed through national and corporate portals.

Scenario:

Every year on 5th of May there will be NEET-1 exam. On 12th of May there will be NEET-2 exam. Students can attend any one or both. On 19th May results will be declared for both NEET-1 and NEET-2. I being a student appear for NEET-1 and NEET-2. There is only one central portal for admission to engineering colleges (For IITs, NITs, All State Government Colleges etc.). I will register and login to central portal which is open from 13th of May. I fill all details and choose colleges/branches (maximum 1500 choices to opt). I will save my choices. I will get results on 19th May. I got two rankings, one for NEET-1 and another for NEET-2. Suppose NEET-1 rank is 24564 and NEET-2 rank is 11473. I will login to central portal and make changes in choices if required and submit the form (Deadline 26th of May).

Central portal will consider my rank as 11473. If suppose Mr. A is having 11473 ranking in NEET-1, then Mr. A will be given more priority and I will be given priority after Mr. A. It means: In the cases of ties NEET-1 ranking will be given more priority.

I will get status (result) on 31st of May. If I am satisfied I will confirm and take admission by 7th June at respective college/institution and start attending classes from 12th of June. If not, I will release my seat and participate in second round.
